Created by the humanitarian organization Action Against Hunger, Echoes of Tsunami is an interactive digital experience that transports viewers to 2004 in Southeast Asia, when one of the largest submarine earthquakes ever recorded devastated communities along the shores of the Indian Ocean. The project centers around four locations in Indonesia and tells their stories through a mixture of audio captured as the tsunami hit, footage recorded after the catastrophe, and narrative voiceover.
A timeline of the last decade describes the devastation caused by the tsunami and shows both the immediate and long-term response by Action Against Hunger. Echoes of Tsunami asks viewers to place themselves in the shoes of those who survived the event, and aims to generate sustainable support for the millions of people impacted by the disaster.
