Simon Bouisson, Director, to Paris.fr
Les Communes de Paris explores Paris through the lives of its citizens. Audience members can access 24 video portraits with 23 different Parisians using a map of the city or a grid of portraits of the interview subjects. Filmmaker Simon Bouisson interviewed two residents from each Parisian neighborhood featured in the film. These residents take the audience through their day, finally depositing them in another neighborhood, which has two more featured interviews. In this way, website visitors can move on branching paths through the city, exploring different aspects of Parisian life. Bouisson’s subjects range from architects to a Metro operator to an Afghan refugee, providing a portrait of Paris’s diversity.
