_Agisoft Metashape

Metahsape is a low-cost software that performs photogrammetric processing of digital images and generates 3D models.

Metahsape (previously known as PhotoScan) is a low-cost software that performs photogrammetric processing of digital images and generates 3D models. There are two versions available: Standard and Pro; the standard version is enough for interactive media projects. With its distributed processing functionality, Metashape can process 50,000+ photos locally. Alternatively, the project can be sent to the cloud to minimize hardware investment. The software has a linear project-based workflow that is intuitive and can be easily learned by a non-specialist. Yet, professionals can benefit from advanced features like stereo mode and have complete control over the accuracy of the result.

The software processes images from RGB or multispectral cameras, in the form of dense point clouds, textured polygonal models. Additionally, it supports frame/fisheye/ spherical/cylindrical/RPC camera models. Lastly, some of its advantages are:

  • It gets highly accurate and detailed results
  • Fully automated and intuitive workflow
  • GPU acceleration for faster processing.
  • The software can run on any of these operating systems: Microsoft Windows, macOS, or Linux.
