Why do our eyes drift inevitably towards the subtitles?

Let’s do like Rembrandt did, let’s look at human beings closely.

Rosario Gonzalez,  VOSE Author.

V.O.S.E. is an interactive documentary which uses original dialogues from films to play with the relation between text, images and the new meanings they generate. V.O.S.E combines the interactive documentary line with a new form, barely explored, the Docugame or Documentary game, all with a touch of humorous documentary or Mockumentary. The result: a proposal that is at the same time deep and fun while allowing the user to explore the sometimes ambiguous relationships between images, subtitles, voiceover and dubbing. But what at first appears to be nothing more than a game immediately shows the capacity for theoretical exploration which can range from surrealist experimentation to cognitive anthropological approaches. This demonstrates once again that the postmodern documentary is a complex type of documentary that always moves at very different levels, where articulation and representation finds its best form on the web.
