EN,FR Visit the project

With the tagline, “nothing in… life resembles Swedish furniture catalogs,” ARTE’s Modern Couple takes a lighthearted look at love and relationships in today’s world, poking fun at Swedish furniture retailer IKEA along the way. Web visitors can choose whether or not to experience Modern Couple from the perspective of a man or a woman. The short films that make up the web documentary tackle pregnancy, parenthood, and the gap between reality of family life and images sold to couples by the media. Visitors can view the shorts from a father’s or mother’s perspective and in any order, allowing users to construct their own narrative related to modern families.
